Wilma Herrington Kimbrell, 97, of Moultrie, died Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Colquitt Senior Care.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Cool Springs Baptist Church in Sale City with Reverend Wayne Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Akridge Cemetery. Richard Beasley, Darren Hembree, Bryan Hamm, Andy Parker, Blake Richter, and T.J. Mims will serve as pallbearers. James Fillyaw, Chad Kimbrell, Rex Shiver, David Pollock, and Jerry Kimbrell will be honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Born March 3, 1929, in Sale City, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Herrington and Pearlie Mae Hall Herrington.

Mrs. Kimbrell enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and cherished every moment spent with family and friends. She loved playing bingo and could always be counted on for her cheerful spirit and friendly smile. She also found great happiness working in her garden, planting flowers, and caring for the beauty around her. Her love for nature reflected the kindness and gentleness she shared with others each day.

Above all, Mrs. Kimbrell deeply loved and treasured her family, and most of all her grandchildren. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with them, sharing laughter, stories, and precious memories that will forever remain in their hearts.

Mrs. Kimbrell will be remembered for her loving heart, caring nature, and the many lives she touched through her kindness and devotion to family. Though she will be greatly missed, her legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her. She was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church Doerun.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Laborn Kimbrell; son, Richard Laborn Kimbrell; daughter in law, Debra Trammell Kimbrell; and her brothers, John Robert Hooks, Arther Herrington, and Rube Herrington.

Ms. Kimbrell is survived by her sons, Bill Collins and wife Margie of Doerun, and David Kimbrell and wife Judy of Funston; grandchildren, Richie Kimbrell, Vickie Dowell, Josh Kimbrell and wife Kaitlin, Kayla Turpin and husband Dewayne, Lisa Haymon and husband Ron, Michael Collins and wife Brandy, John Kimbrell, Katie Clark and husband Jason, and Alex Kimbrell and wife Whitney; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
