Wanda Roberts Hamilton-Tyler, 82, of Noman Park, died Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Reverend Mitch Griffin and Reverend Evan Goforth officiating. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Norman Park. Austin Hamilton, Presley Hamilton, Luke Griffin, Justin West, Jon Schwalls, and Dug Schwalls will all serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Born on August 11, 1942, in Colquitt County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Oran Lemuel Roberts and Marie Baker Roberts. Wanda was the matriarch, visionary leader, and the heart and driving force behind Southern Valley Fruit & Vegetable, Inc., a proud woman-owned business. Wanda broke barriers and inspired countless others through her leadership and determination. Above all else, Wanda deeply cherished her family. She was their cornerstone—always offering love, wisdom, and steady guidance. Her favorite way to unwind was mullet fishing at St. Marks, Florida, a treasured pastime that brought her peace and happiness throughout the years. She was also a devoted member of Cool Springs Free Will Baptist Church, where her faith and fellowship were central to her life. Her warm spirit, strong convictions, and unwavering love for those around her left a lasting impact on her church and community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Benny Hamilton; son, Kirk Hamilton; sister, Jane Weeks; and brothers, Kenny Roberts, and Joe Wendell Roberts.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Tyler of Norman Park; son, Kent Hamilton and wife Pam of Norman Park; grandchildren, Courtney Hamilton Griffin and husband Luke, Austin Hamilton and wife Ashley, Kaylee Hamilton West and husband Justin, and Presley Hamilton and fiancée Abby Reasor; great-grandchildren, Lila Hamilton, Elsie Hamilton, Anabelle Hamilton, Alton Hamilton, Liberty West, Leif West, Gunnar West, and Hamilton Griffin; brother, Byron Roberts and wife Priscilla of Statesboro; sister, Valda Mathis and husband Steve of Norman Park; and sisters-in-law, Pat Roberts and Carolyn Roberts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Georgia Foundation at 1775 The Exchange SE, Suite 200, Atlanta, GA 30339 or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306, in Wanda’s memory.
