Virginia Louise Carithers Pinckard, 83, of Americus, GA,  formerly of Moultrie, GA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at her home. 

Ginger was born in Moultrie, GA, in 1942 to James David Carithers and Martha Elizabeth Flowers Carithers. She was married to the Reverend Edward Saunders (Sonny) Pinckard for 65 years. She spent her entire adult life as a pastor’s wife, a role that she loved. She was a true example of the Fruit of the Spirit. Sonny described her as “the most perfect person I have ever met.” She also loved her role of mother, Granny, and Great-Granny. She was active in all of their lives until her health started to decline. She was a graduate of Moultrie High School and Agnes Scott College. She retired from Jeff Jeffords State Farm, where she was an office manager.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Keith Pinckard, and his wife Andrea, granddaughter Kari Pinckard, grandson Aaron Pinckard, and 2 great-grandsons, Cobe and Tristan. She is also survived by her sisters, Claire Miles and husband Tim, and Betty Mixon and husband Ralph. In addition, she has a host of nieces and nephews. Her most special caregiver and honorary family member through these last years was Marsha Robinson.

There will be a private memorial service for her at a later date.
