Tommy Lee Welch

Tommy Lee Welch, 65, of Pavo, Georgia, died Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Born on January 23, 1961, in Homerville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Dewey “Doc” Welch and Mary Lou Baldree Welch. Mr. Welch worked as an equipment operator at Meherrin Fertilizer for more than 30 years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He also proudly served his country as a United States Marine.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Welch, and Doug “Possum” Welch; brother-in-law, Danny Sutton; special nephews, Michael Sutton, Trey Sutton, and Josh Sutton.

Mr. Welch is survived by his son, Thomas Welch of Pavo; daughter, Morgan Broadway and husband, Matt of Albany; grandchildren, Reagan Broadway, Braleigh Broadway, and Diesel Broadway; brothers, Joe Welch and wife Ashley, Walter Welch and wife Cindy, and Billy Welch and wife, Michelle; sister, Diane Sutton; numerous nieces and nephews.
