Born on December 10, 1990, in Moultrie, he was the son of Teresa Bachelor Segers and the late Timothy Mark “Timmy” Hobgood. Chevy enjoyed living life to the fullest and never met a stranger. His greatest passion was scrapmetaling — a trade he took great pride in and dedicated much of his life to. Whether hauling metal or turning one man’s junk into his next treasure, Chevy had a gift for seeing value in what others overlooked. He found joy and purpose in the work, and it was more than a job—it was a way of life.

Chevy was a master of many things, but nothing brought him more joy than his cooking. He had a gift for flavor, a deep respect for the process, and a soulful approach to barbecue that bordered on sacred. And at the heart of it all was his homemade barbecue sauce — a smoky, sweet, tangy creation that he guarded like gold but shared freely with anyone lucky enough to pull up a chair. Mack's BBQ Sauce wasn’t just a recipe. It was a ritual. Chevy spent years perfecting it — testing, tasting, tweaking — always with that quiet smile, knowing he was onto something special. He didn’t follow trends or measure things too carefully. He cooked with instinct, memory, and a kind of love you could taste in every bite. He was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Mary Ann Bachelor.

Chevy is survived by his loving and cherished mother, Teresa Bachelor Segers and husband Wayne of Hartsfield; brother, Brandon Lee Bachelor of Hartsfield; sister, Brittany Hobgood Swilley of Hartsfield; nieces and nephews, Benjamin “Junior” Swilley, Jr., Brayden Bachelor and Amelia Goodwin; special girlfriend, Brandy Cassidy; and several extended family members and friends.
