Thomas Carlton Payne, 82 of Pavo, Georgia died Saturday, April 6, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his wife, Brenda, and special pet, Petey.
No formal service will be held at this time.
Dr. Payne was born on July 5, 1941, in Washington, D.C. to Lewis Payne and Orris Webb Payne. He was a veterinarian for 35 years in Dalton, Georgia and he retired in 2003. He served in the United States Army with the 5th Special Forces Group and was of the Episcopalian Faith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, David Payne, and 4 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Brenda Cain Payne of Pavo, Georgia; children, Andrew Payne and wife Jenny of Chatsworth, Georgia, Heather Payne of Dalton, Georgia, Molly Payne of Norfolk, Virginia, Brooke Payne Laney and husband, Eric of Tallahassee, Florida, Thomas Payne and wife, Gigi of Thomasville, Georgia, and 6 grandchildren.
