Shirley Miller Sumner

Shirley Ann Miller Sumner, 80, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center.
Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Willacoochee City Cemetery. Bethany Hospice employees and employees from The Landings of Douglas will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home in Moultrie on Friday, December 2, 2022.
Born on July 26, 1942, in Atkinson County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Archie Thomas Miller and Mary Bell Steverson Miller. She was retired from Queens Carpet.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hilsman Tift Sumner; son, Stephen Harvey McClendon; stepson, Joe Glenn Sumner; brothers, Ike D. Miller, John A. Miller, Archie Jr. Miller, Thomas W. Miller, and Grady Miller; and sisters, Agnes Dyess, Lena Guess, and Hazel Davis.
Mrs. Sumner is survived by her nieces, Mary Johnson, and Brenda Davis; nephew, Jimmy Johnson; and stepdaughters, Cindy Carter and husband Ron of Chapman, South Carolina, and Sabrina Shiver and husband Steven of St. Simons; 4 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren; and several other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
