Ruby Mae Smith Williams, 88, of Norman Park, died Monday, July 2, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Sylvester, Ga. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 4, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Noah Phillips, Bro. Bobby Wiard and Bro. Roland Bamberg officiating. Burial will follow in Omega City Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Born May 31, 1924, in Canton, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Howard S. Smith and Agnes Grace Cagle Smith. She was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Milton Williams; sons, Hilton Williams and Aldwin Williams; a sister, Effie Hodges; brothers, Grady Smith, J. W. Smith and Gilbert Smith; and great-grandchildren, Brandi Barlow and Camryn Johnson. Survivors include her sons, Samuel Williams and wife Corine of Greenville, Ga., J. L. Williams and wife Glenda and Tommy Williams and wife Velveline "Redbug", all of Norman Park; daughters, Elizabeth Barlow of Albany, Ga., Kathy York of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Brenda Johnson and husband Stan of Sylvester, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Ethel Williams of Sylvester, Ga.; sisters, Faye Giddens and husband Winfred of Norman Park, Clara Mae Johnson and husband Medford of Albany, Ga., and Mildred Young and husband Tracy of Moultrie; brothers, Dannis Smith of Norman Park and Benny Smith of Augusta, Ga.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., today, July 3, at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
