Rosalind Turner Jeter, 77, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026. She died following an extended illness surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27 at 2pm at First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. Hugh Ward officiating. After a private interment, the family will receive friends at the Colquitt County Arts Center in Moultrie, Ga., 401 7th Ave. SW. Moultrie, Ga. 31768.
Rosalind was born on August 2, 1948, in Moultrie, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Wilma Childs Turner and Douglas Joseph Turner. She is survived by her husband, James Melson “Jimmy” Jeter; her daughter, Emily Jeter Evans and her husband, Ralph “Griffin” Evans of Douglas, Georgia; her grandchildren, Charles Griffin Evans and Katherine Jeter Evans. Other survivors include sister-in-law, Gussie Montford Turner, and brother-in-law, Daniel “Dan” Burke Jeter and sister-in-law, Felicity Small Jeter.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Katherine Majors Jeter;
her brothers, Joseph LaDon “Donnie” Turner and James Randolph “Randy” Turner.
Rosalind graduated from Moultrie High School in 1966 and from Wesleyan College in 1970.
A faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, a Sustaining Member of the Moultrie Service League, and a member of the Board of Directors of Wesleyan College, Rosalind gave her time and energy generously to causes that strengthened her community.
Those who knew her remember Rosalind as diligent and dependable in everything she took on. As one friend shared, she approached each task with care and commitment—a reflection of the quiet strength that defined her life. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her daughters.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Rosalind’s life, memorial contributions may be made to the Moultrie YMCA, the Colquitt County Arts Center, the First Presbyterian Church of Moultrie or the charity of your choice.
