Richard Groover Tucker, 66, of Moultrie, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at his residence.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Ochlocknee Cemetery in Ochlocknee, Georgia, with Reverend Tony Crosby officiating.
Born on February 12, 1960, in Macon, Georgia, he was the son of Mrs. Jane Tucker and the late Warren Hubert Tucker, Jr. Mr. Tucker retired as a Master Control Operator with Turner Broadcasting, where he dedicated many years of faithful service. He enjoyed traveling and had a deep love for sports, especially cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and the Colquitt County Packers. In his leisure time, he found joy in playing bingo and spending time with others.
He faithfully served as the sound technician at First Methodist Church, generously sharing his time and talents with his church family. He also served his community as a poll manager for local elections, a role he carried out with diligence and care.
Known for his kind and giving nature, Mr. Tucker had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Hubert Tucker, III.
Mr. Tucker is survived by his mother, Jane Tucker; brother, William “Bill” Tucker and wife, Wendy, of Ohio; sisters, Cindy Loffer and husband, Myron, of Pageland, South Carolina, and Beth Lewis and husband, Wes, of Moultrie; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Methodist Church of Moultrie, 409 First Street SE, Moultrie, GA 31768, or a charity of your choice.
