Richard Laborn Kimbrell

Richard Laborn Kimbrell, 66, of Doerun, Georgia, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Cool Springs Baptist Church in Sale City with Rev. Roy Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Cemetery. Charles Sealy, Bryan Hamm, Christopher Smith, Darren Hembree, Jordan Hembree, and TJ Mims will serve as pallbearers. Bill Collins, Kitt Sealy, Jacob Kimbrell, James Fillyaw, Andy Parker, Jerry Kimbrell, Tony Walls, and Tracy Walls will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Born on May 8, 1957, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of Wilma Herrington Kimbrell and the late Laborn Kimbrell. He was a retired shop supervisor at Cooksey Steel and a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church in Sale City.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Ann Trammell Kimbrell.

Mr. Kimbrell is survived by his mother, Wilma Herrington Kimbrell of Moultrie; sons, Richie Kimbrell, and Josh Kimbrell and fiancé Sarah Kirkland of Doerun; daughters, Kayla Kimbrell and fiancé Dewayne Turpin of Doerun, and Vickie Dowell and husband Jeff of Hubert, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jacob Kimbrell, Lacey Kimbrell, Jacob Kirkland, Reed Nankivell and Andrew Kimbrell; and 7 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Cool Springs Baptist Church.
