Ray Jean Baker Jernigan, 85, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021, at Willow Lodge.
Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Leila United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Jeremy Dickens, Joe Jernigan, Denver Braswell, Stephen Duke, Benjy Scarbor, Eric Moore, and Matt Mobley will serve as pallbearers.
Born on October 14, 1936, in Omega, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Baker and Katie Sumner Baker. She was retired from Piggly Wiggly after 30 years then went into the restaurant business with her husband where they became the owners of Jernigan’s Restaurant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Blevins Jernigan; and brother, Randall Baker.
Mrs. Jernigan is survived by her son, Ken Jernigan and wife Glenda of Lenox; daughter, Charlotte Jernigan Burgamy and husband Charles of Tifton; sister in law, Jane Baker of Albertville, Alabama; grandchildren, Shan Scarbor and husband Benjy, Jeremy Dickens and wife Autumn, Jessica Braswell and husband Denver, Kristin Moore and husband Eric, Genna Mobley and husband Matt, Jacie Duke and husband Stephen, and Joe Jernigan and wife Summer; step granddaughter, Scarlett Wade and husband Joseph of Leesburg; great-grandchildren, Cameron Dickens, Cadden Dickens, Ava Dickens, Alivia Dickens, Shelby Braswell, Addison Braswell, Laney Braswell, Mabre Braswell, Hartlie Braswell, Max Braswell, Bailie Duke, Blaklie Duke, Bain Duke, Ellie Moore, Jerni Moore, James Mobley, Kate Mobley, William Mobley, Sanders Wade, and Brody Jernigan coming in January; nephew, Kevin Baker and wife Barbara of Buena Vista; and niece, Sonya Roebuck and husband Shane of Albertville, Alabama.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
