Randy Joe Cox, Sr.

He crossed the fence to Heaven on August 21, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Heritage Church with Reverend Mark Cunningham officiating.

The family will receive family and friends immediately following the service.

He was born on July 4, 1956, in Moultrie, GA to Julius Clyde and Mildred Cox.

He shared 50 years with the love of his life Darlene Pierce Cox and together they built a home full of love and faith.

He was a successful entrepreneur who built and led many businesses. Alongside his sons, he grew those businesses into a well-known name throughout the State of Georgia and within the recycling community. He was able to work alongside all of his 4 children, son in law, and grandchildren throughout his life and taught them the value of hard work, love, and most importantly the opportunity to share the wonderful love of Jesus Christ with others.

He is survived by his wife and the legacy he left in his children: Randy Joe Cox, Jr - Joey (Amy) Cox, Jason (Alyssha) Cox, Jennifer Cox (Stephen) Sears, and Journey Cox. His seven treasured grandchildren and great-grandchild: Emily Cox (Jesus) Luna, Elizabeth Cox, Kaden Cox, Hunter Sears, Ava Cox, Kason Sears, Ridge Sears, and Everly Luna. As well as his best pup: Lady.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Doris Jones, Rachel Holloway, Shirley Sprayberry, and JC Cox.

He had a special gift for giving his time, talents, and knowledge to others.

He never hesitated to help with a project, no matter how big or small. If someone needed a hand, he was there. He found joy in building, fixing, creating, and simply being useful to the people he loved. His willingness to give of himself was one of the things that made him so special, and it is a part of his legacy that we will carry with us.

A very special heartfelt thank you to the staff of Emory Hospital and the Hospice Wing that gave him and his family the utmost respect, care, and comfort as he went into eternity with his Savior.
