Randy S. Benton

Randy S. Benton, 54, of Moultrie, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Oakdale Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Dudding officiating. Heath Braswell, Casey Braswell, Hunter Benton, Blake Roberts, Ronald Jordan, Michael Morris, Tayte Alexander, and Luis Rios will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born on August 17, 1972, in Moultrie, Georgia. He was the son of the late John Sameul Benton and Carol Beth Braswell Benton. Mr. Benton dedicated many years of his life to serving the community through his work in law enforcement. He proudly served with the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office, where he worked as a night shift supervisor. His position carried great responsibility, requiring him to lead his fellow officers and help ensure the safety and security of the citizens of Colquitt County during the overnight hours.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Jordan Turner.

Survivors include his son, Micheal Benton and Sarah Douglas of Texas; daughter, Sarah Benton of Moultrie; grandchildren, John Castanon and Everleigh Turner; brother, Scott Benton and wife, Turrah of Moultrie; sister, Kelli Benton and daughter, Kelsi Ruzzo of Moultrie; special friend, Tony Castanon.
