Penny Denise Acosta

Penny Denise Laney Acosta, 46, of Moultrie, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, with Rev. Julian Griner officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.

Born on February 12, 1978, in Randolph County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Doris Alene Driver Laney and the late Charles Terry Laney. Mrs. Acosta was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed sewing, solving puzzles, and cherishing time with her family. She was a member of Berlin Baptist Church for 26 years.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward Matthew Driver, Alene Lanora Driver, and Orvin Bobby Laney; and an aunt, Sherry Carol Laney.

In addition to her mother, Doris Alene Driver Laney, Mrs. Acosta is survived by her husband, Jose Antonio Acosta Vazquez of Moultrie; daughter, Marlana Rosa Sapp and husband Richard of Morven; stepdaughters, Rosa Acosta and husband Adolfo Moreno of Moultrie, Irene Acosta and husband Fidel of Moultrie, and Leticia Acosta and husband Juan Hernandez of Moultrie; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Janice Laney Acosta of Moultrie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
