Orinda Ruth Webber Stone, 76, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at UF Health-Shands Hospital.
Born on July 9, 1946, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late John Frank Webber and Annie Mae Allman Webber. Mrs. Stone was a graduate of the Moultrie Senior High class of ’64. She worked many years as a retail store manager and as a bookkeeper in the Melbourne, Florida, area until her recent move to Moultrie in 2017, so she could be closer to family. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Stone was an avid painter who loved painting in oils and acrylics. She enjoyed watching various movies and playing Yahtzee. Mrs. Stone loved her cats.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only son, James “Jimmy” Edward Stone.
She is survived by special cousins, Toni and Craig Moss, Misty and Wade Dillon, Brenda Henson, Mike Strickland, Joyce Blalock, all of Moultrie, and David Albritton of Berlin; brother, Donald Ammons and wife Betty of Odense, Denmark; nieces, Ann Ammons, and nephew, Thomas Ammons, all of Denmark; and several other cousins, and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Colquitt Co. Humane Society 1412 1st St NE, Moultrie, GA 31768 or to the Colquitt Co. Food Bank 309 3rd St SE Moultrie, Georgia 31768.
