On Thursday, June 24, 2021, Ola Mae James Hamilton, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, went to her eternal home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, at the age of 97.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at China Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jackie Cabaniss officiating. Interment will follow at China Grove Church Cemetery. Daniel Craven, Matt Craven, Drew Clark, Jason May, David Delaney, and Eric Delaney will serve as pallbearers.
Born on August 10, 1923, in Lenox, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late William Hendrick James and Ola Watson James. Ms. Hamilton was a homemaker and was a member of China Grove Baptist Church. She loved her family and loved to work in the yard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Shug” Wesley Hamilton; daughters, Jean Hamilton, Bonnie Hamilton Selph, Sandra Hamilton Clark, Donna Elizabeth Hamilton; granddaughter, Suzanne Delaney; sisters, Virginia Gibbs, and Louise Moore; and brothers, Buck James, Buddy James, Jimmy James.
Ms. Hamilton is survived by her son, James L. Hamilton of Irwin, Co.; daughters, Barbara Mims of Leary, Linda May of Norman Park, Carolyn Delaney and husband Donnie of Fernandina, FL, Mary Hamm and husband Gary of Moultrie, Debbie Kent and husband Jerry of Moultrie, Becky Hamilton Craven and husband Carroll of Moultrie, Christy Friar of Adel; son-in-law, Andy Clark of Moultrie; 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3-4 on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at China Grove Baptist Church.
