Myrtle Lee Thornton

Myrtle Lee Powell Hall Thornton, 92, of Moultrie, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Pruitt Health Sunrise.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Tillman officiating. Chase Hall, Patrick Hall, Matt Lewis, Brian Richey, Ricky Powell, and Ken Haughton will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memory Gardens.
Born on June 16, 1931, in Florida, she was the daughter of the late Delton Powell, Sr., and Mary Etta Watson Powell. She was a homemaker, she loved cooking for her family, gardening, and raising her daylilies and was of the Holiness faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edgar L. Hall; her second husband, William Shep Thornton; brother, Delton Powell, Jr.; and sisters, Mamie Tompkins, and Betty Mallard.
Mrs. Thornton is survived by her sons, Lee Hall of Moultrie, and Darryl Hall of Tifton; daughters, Carol Sanders and husband Tim of Tifton, and Linda Hall of Tifton; brother, Jackie Powell and wife Mary Faye of Berlin; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held one hour before the service.
