Myrtle Armada “Madie” Castleberry Hopson, 86, of Ellenton, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Harborview Health in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Lennon Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Leila Church Cemetery. Johnnie Franklin, Bennie White, Kim Flanagan, Jerry Castleberry, Bill Joe Wright, and Brad Simmons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 AM.
Born on April 30, 1937, in Laurel Hill, Florida, she was the daughter of the late John Castleberry and Beatrice Howard Castleberry. Mrs. Hopson worked at C&D in Adel, Georgia for 17 years and was a seamstress at Riverside Manufacturing Company for 20 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Hopson; son, William Hopson; brothers, Leo Castleberry, Robert Castleberry, Alvin Castleberry, Rufus Castleberry, and Howard Castleberry; sisters, Susie Castleberry Sentefeit, Norma Castleberry Gruber, Vernell Castleberry, Johnnie B Castleberry, and Myrtice Castleberry Bunn.
Mrs. Hopson is survived by daughters, Patricia Hopson Franklin and husband Johnnie of Omega, Jeanette Hopson Simmons and husband Joe of Tifton, and Willie Mae Hopson White and husband Bennie of Lenox; grandchildren, Susie Franklin, Keith Franklin, Brad Simmons, Becky Simmons, Mandy Baldree, and Brent Baldree; great-grandchildren, Johnna Young and Dustin Baldree, Cody Franklin and Zachary Baldree, Brady Hutchinson, Gage Tenhagen, Malarie Tenhagen, Delana Simmons, Lakota Simmons, Hannah Slivka, Josiah Slivka, Ariel Slivka, Isabel Baldree, Brendon Baldree, Peyton Peters, and Ramsey Baldree; great-grandchild, Evelyn Tenhagen; and brother, Ray Castleberry of TyTy.
