Myrl Louise McKellar Spotanski, 89, Norman Park, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 18, 2023, in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Bro. Rickey Wells officiating. Mrs. Spotanski will be laid to rest at Wright’s Chapel Cemetery.
Born on January 2, 1934, in Scooterville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henderson McKellar and Nellie Lee Barfield McKellar. Mrs. Spotanski was a bookkeeper for Warner Brothers and a seamstress.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spotanski was preceded in death by the father of her children, Herbert Saunders and husband Sgt. Maj. John Henry Spotanski; brothers and sisters, Frank McKellar, Lee and wife Ethel McKellar, infant Carl McKellar, Junior and wife Dorothy McKellar, James and wife Eleanor McKellar, Ben and wife Shirley McKellar, Vernell Kelly Boatwright, and Dollie Crumley; and sister-in-law, Charlotte McKellar.
Mrs. Spotanski is survived by her son, Ray Saunders and wife Teekeela of Tifton; daughter, Susan Saunders Owens and husband George of Tifton. She was affectionally known as Mamie to her three grandchildren, Selena Bonner and husband Allen, Andy Owens and wife Christina, and Candis Davis and husband Josh; great-grandchildren, Brittany Kibbe and husband Jim, Bo Bonner, Norah Owens, Lena Owens, Jaeden Davis, Jentry Davis, and Jensen Davis; brother, Charles McKellar of Norman Park; sister, Ann Edmondson Collins and husband Brian of Tifton; and a brother-in-law, Henry Crumley, Jr. of Omega.
