Monty Ray Carlton, 60, of Norman Park, died Saturday, February 28, 2026, at his residence.
A private family graveside service will be held with Reverend Charles McCardle officiating. Dillon Carlton, Dalton Carlton, Chris Barber, Hunter Barber, Spencer Tucker, and Eugene Anderson will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
Born on March 27, 1965, in Colquitt Co., Georgia, he was the son of Wayne Carlton and Jean Spradley Carlton. Monty worked as a welder by trade. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. He took pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout the years.
He was a man who truly loved the outdoors and found great joy in God’s creation. Whether he was casting a line into the water or sitting quietly in the woods waiting on a deer, Monty felt most at peace outside.
An avid fisherman and devoted hunter, Monty treasured every opportunity to be outdoors. Those who knew him knew that fishing wasn’t just a hobby — it was a passion. Hunting season was something he looked forward to each year, and many memories were made in the early morning hours and cool fall afternoons.
Monty was a faithful member of Poulan Free Will Baptist Church. His church family meant so much to him, and he cherished worshipping the Lord alongside friends and loved ones. His faith was an important part of his life and guided him in the way he loved and cared for others.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Carlton is survived by his sons, Dillon Carlton and Dalton Carlton; grandchildren, Kori Hopper and Teigan Carlton; brother, Russell Carlton and wife Amy; and sister, Wendy Patton and husband Jeff.
Arrangements entrusted to Baker Funeral Home and Crematory.
