Maydean Clark Baker, 92, of Omega, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Omega Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Baker and Rev. Dr. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at Omega City Cemetery. Brad Baker, Chad Baker, Ron Baker, Timothy Pate, Zachary Baker, and Andrew Summerlin will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Baker's Omega Baptist Church Sunday School class, her Antioch Baptist Church Sunday School class, Jimmy and Carol Holden, Betty Willis, Warena Youmans, Felicia Thomas, Geneva Surbree, Hospice of Tift Area nurses, Linda Senkbeil, and Niki Taylor, will all serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born on June 17, 1931, in Colquitt Co., Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Jim Clark and Jewell Clyde Hawkins Clark. She was a retired school teacher and pianist at Antioch Baptist Church and Omega Baptist Church and was a member of Omega Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd F. Baker; son, Bruce Allen Baker; brothers, Harvey Clark, Horace Clark, James Clark, and Lloyd Clark; sisters, Edna Murphy, and Evelyn Stephens; grandchild, Jamie Pate; daughter-in-law, Louise Baker; and several sisters and brothers-in-law.
Mrs. Baker is survived by her son, Wayne Baker of Omega, and Ronnie Baker and wife Teri of Lenox; daughter, Jane Pate and husband Larry of Omega; sister, Myrtle Whittington of Tifton; grandchildren, Brad and Brandy Baker of Hahira, Chad and Amy Baker of Snellville, Ron Baker of Omega, Timothy and Carrie Pate of Quitman, Macie Baker of Omega, Zachary and Amanda Baker and Rebecca and Andrew Summerlin, all of Lenox; great-grandchildren, Hannah Baker, Sarah Baker, Nathan Baker, Mary Baker, Katie Baker, Adam Baker, Emily Baker, Alex Baker, Maylla Patrick, Anna Patrick, Addie Summerlin, Rhys Summerlin, Eli Baker, and Riley Baker.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
