Max Jerald Croft

Max Jerald Croft arrived in this world on the  21st of January, 1941, as the 2nd of 7 children born to Myrtle Lee Croft and James Albert Croft. He left this world for his Lord Jesus on June 8th, 2024.

After growing up in Berlin, Georgia, working the family farm, Max graduated high school and packed up for the big city of Atlanta, GA. There he met his wife-to-be-Lawanda Rowland. He sweet-talked Lawanda into marrying him and they tied the knot Sept 5, 1964. They would have been married 60 years this coming September.

Max had a diverse career, starting out as a US Marine reservist, then as a computer programmer at Ford Motor Company in Hapeville, then as a real estate agent, insurance agent, concrete pourer, builder, and finally home inspector.  His quick wit was bestowed upon everyone he met in all of his careers.

Max and Lawanda raised two daughters, Karen (married to Tim Luke) and Valorie (married to Scott Koziol). Max is survived by his four grandchildren, Jacob and JP Luke, Caroline, and Thomas Koziol. And, bouncing in this world on June 5th was his great grandson Holden Brooks Luke, whose photo Max did see three days before his death.

Max is the first of his siblings to pass on, leaving behind Kevan (Catfish) Croft of Fernandina Beach, Norris Croft of Berlin, Ruth Craven of Valdosta, Paula Cunningham of Brooks, Neal Croft of Moultrie and Garland Croft of Pavo.
