Matthew Joseph Selph, 29, of Moultrie, died on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
Born on September 24, 1996, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of John Wesley Selph and Tonya Faye Melton. After graduating from high school, Matthew worked as a welder for Southern Woods Components.
Matthew loved his family deeply, especially his nieces and nephews. No matter how long or demanding the day had been, he could always be found spending time with the children. Even after coming home from work tired and covered in dirt, he never missed an opportunity to head outside, play, and make memories with them.
Matthew had a smile that seemed to come naturally and a carefree, fun-loving spirit that drew people to him. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and tackling just about any project that needed attention. Gifted with a knack for fixing things, he was truly a handyman who was always willing to lend a helping hand. His kindness, easygoing nature, and love for those around him will be remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobby Eugene Melton and Fonda Faye Melton, and Bonnie and Johnny Selph; and his uncle, Bobby Eugene Melton II.
Matthew is survived by his parents, John Wesley Selph and Tonya Faye Melton of Moultrie; sisters, Tabitha Cannon and Josey Pugh and husband Chris, all of Moultrie; nieces and nephews, Alexis Pugh, Raegan Stanfill, Evalynn Weeks, River Weeks, Jaycee Pugh, and Woodrow Cannon; and uncle, John Melton of Moultrie.
Arrangements entrusted to Baker Funeral Home and Crematory.
