Mary "Rennie" Renell Butler

Mary Renell “Rennie” Newman Butler, 61, of Moultrie, passed away on, Monday, February 26, 2024, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Chris Fallin, Jack Wilson, Braylen Gunter, James McMurphy, Casey Anderson, and Tommy Hamon will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45 AM in the chapel of the funeral home.
Born on July 8, 1962, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth McMurphy Newman and the late Robert Lee “Bob” Newman. She was retired from Woodhaven Furniture.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Charles “Chuck” Chesnutt; sisters, Sherri LaRane Newman Padgett, and Billie Mechelle Murphy; and brother, Walter Martin Newman.
Mrs. Butler is survived by her husband, James Robin Butler of Moultrie; mother, Mary Elizabeth McMurphy Newman of Moultrie; step-daughter, Taylor Butler of Baconton; step-son, Chris Butler of Pelham; grandchildren, Ryan Butler, Elliott Butler, and Mason Butler; sister, Rebecca Ann “Becky” Fallin and husband Mike of Merrillville; brother, Robert “Bobby” Lee Newman, Jr. and wife Patty of Moultrie; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
