Mary Merritt

Mary Jean Miller Merritt, 85, of Norman Park, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Merritt was born on July 26, 1937, in Cairo, Georgia to the late Zora E. Miller and Louise Lewis Miller. She loved her family and her church family. She was blessed with a servant’s heart and was a caregiver to many families and friends. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Norman Park.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Kenneth Merritt, and brothers, Jack Miller, and Ted Miller.
Mrs. Merritt is survived by her children, Karen Merritt Maxwell and husband Bobby of Thomasville, Sonny Merritt of California, and Kim Merritt Sheffield and husband Kenny of Norman Park; granddaughter, Kinsley Maxwell of Acworth, Georgia; sisters, Beth Baggett, and Dianne Patterson; brother, Dick Miller and wife Nellie; sisters in law, Virginia Miller, Shirley Hatcher, and Elaine Merritt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southside Baptist Church or Colquitt Regional Hospice.
