Mary Dell Ewer-Hart, age 77, passed away peacefully at her home at Legacy Village on April 24, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Reverend Stephen Adcock officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mary Dell was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, Donald “Don” Gene Hart. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, compassion, and devotion to others.
She is survived by her sons, Chris Hart and Kelly Hart (Summer); her cherished grandchildren, Cannon Hart, Teegan Hart, Drew Hart, and Lexie Pike; and her brother, Seabie Ewer (Patty).
Mary Dell dedicated more than 35 years of her life to education, a calling that was truly her passion and purpose. She spent much of her career teaching special education, which remained especially close to her heart. Some of her happiest and proudest moments came from teaching and caring for children, and she often reflected fondly on the students and families whose lives she was blessed to touch throughout her career.
Known for her generous spirit and compassionate heart, Mary Dell would give anyone the shirt off her back. Her kindness extended far beyond family and friends to strangers she had never met. She loved deeply, cared sincerely, and made people feel seen, valued, and welcomed wherever she went.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and employees of Legacy Village, as well as the hospice team at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, for the exceptional care, comfort, and compassion shown to Mary Dell during the final days of her life.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and service to others will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
