In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Judy Lynn Bynum McKinnon; infant daughters, Mary Allison McKinnon and Sherry Lynn McKinnon; and siblings, Edward Grady McKinnon, Jr., Henry McKinnon, Veronica McKinnon Hope, and Geneva McKinnon; and brother-in-law, Paul Hope.

Mr. McKinnon is survived by his son, Joseph McKinnon and wife Melanie of Boston, Georgia; grandson, Elijah McKinnon of Snellville; brothers, Tommy McKinnon and wife Susan of Albany, and Jimmy McKinnon and wife Dorine of St. Petersburg, Florida; sister, Mareice McKinnon Cook of Albany; and sisters-in-law, Shelby McKinnon of Douglas and Shirley McKinnon of Pearson; other extended family especially to include his great niece, Meagan McKinnon; and special family friend, Keith Cole.
