Marjorie Ann Sherrod Carlton, 89, of Coolidge, died on April 22, 2025, at Camellia Gardens in Thomasville.

A graveside service will be held at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Pavo on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.

Born on October 25, 1935, in Thomas Co., Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Dallas “Doc” Sherrod and Rosa Mae Yearty Sherrod. Marjorie devoted over 35 years of her life to the banking industry, where she was known not only, for her sharp mind and diligent work ethic but also for her warm heart and generous spirit. In the latter part of her career, she continued to share her talents as a bookkeeper for Kenny Bennett Trucking, where her reliability and integrity earned her the admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

She was a proud member of the Baptist faith. She was raised at Antioch Baptist Church and in her later years attended Barwick Baptist Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her in all that she did from her work to her relationships with family, friends, and community. A devoted member of her community, she dedicated much of her time to serving and uplifting those around her.

Marjorie had a flair for fashion and a deep love for beautiful jewelry, always expressing her vibrant personality through her style. She found great joy in working in her yard and tending to her flowers, creating spaces filled with color and life.

Above all, Marjorie loved her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart.

Marjorie will be remembered for her grace, her laughter, and her tireless devotion to those she loved. Her strength, faith, and compassionate spirit touched everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Eugene Carlton; and sisters, Linda Bannister and Becky Vinson.

She is survived by her children, Penny Daniels and husband Neil of Cherry Lake FL, Phillip Carlton and husband Shane Syfrett of Tallahassee, FL and Anne Parrish and husband Brook of Pavo, GA; sisters, Martha Sherrod and Mary Brent both of Coolidge; grandchildren, Jamie Daniels and wife Allison, Blaine Brooks and husband Mike Jr., Shelbey Wise and husband John Adam, Kaitlyn Quick, and Lane Quick and wife Miranda; great-grandchildren, JC and Neil Wise, Layla and Trace Brooks, and Rose Marie and Thomas Daniels.
