Loyd Bill “Buddy” Sutton, 76, of Norman Park, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021, at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at First Baptist Church Norman Park with Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating, assisted by Rev. Jody Jordan. Interment will be held at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Jon Cone, Ryan Diers, Jeb Griffin, Chad Horne, Dug Schwalls, and Waylon Stuckey will serve as pallbearers. Bo DeMott, Joey Faison, Joel Griffin, Billy Gene Middlebrooks, Brian Key, Clarence Lowe, Donnie Weeks, and Justin Weeks will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born on December 5, 1944, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Ulhan “Bill” Sutton and Alice Salter Sutton. He was the owner and operator of SMI C&W and was a member of First Baptist Church Norman Park. He served in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stanley Sutton.
Mr. Sutton is survived by his loving wife, Mary Helen Tillman Sutton of Norman Park; daughter, Sala Sutton Pressley and husband Mark of Norman Park; sisters, Clara Sutton Smith of Moultrie, and Christine Sutton Page of Norman Park; grandchildren, Jon Cone and Lilly Newsome both of Norman Park; and unofficial sons, Waylon Stuckey, and Ryan Diers.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at First Baptist Church Norman Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church Norman Park Youth, Post Office Box 107, Norman Park, Georgia 31771.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
