Linda Fay Clayton Goodman, 68, of Moultrie, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Unity Free Will Baptist Church. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the service.
Born June 4, 1957, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of Alfred Franklin Clayton, Sr. and the late Fay Frances Musselwhite Clayton.
Mrs. Goodman found her greatest happiness in the moments shared with her loved ones—laughing, telling stories, and creating cherished memories. Her home was a place where everyone felt welcome.
Mrs. Goodman will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and a kitchen that was always filled with the comforting aromas of her delicious cooking. Whether she was preparing a holiday feast or a simple weeknight meal, she poured love into every dish and took joy in gathering her family around the table.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband James Larry Goodman; son-in-law, Ollie D. Hurst of Moultrie; and sister-in-law Carol Clayton.
Mrs. Goodman is survived by her daughters, Mary Hurst, and Julie Goodman of Moultrie; son, Jerry Wayne Smith and wife Kelli of Moultrie; step-daughter, Amanda Wilson and husband Terry of Moultrie; sisters, Frances Ingle and husband Jerry of Moultrie, and Deborah Hurst and husband David of Texas; brother, Alfred Clayton Jr.; grandchildren, Ollie (D.J.) Hurst and wife Brenda, Jenna Matos and husband Cleyber, Josie Goodman and fiancé Cody Evers, Brittany Goodman, Jonathan Moore and wife Jessica, Jeanne Jones and husband Quandarius, and Amy Partain and Kannan Partain; life partner, Johnny P. Pruett; and 17 great-grandchildren.
