Linda Kay Morey Branson, 78, of Norman Park, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Born on August 5, 1947, in Lester, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Russell Morey and Gladys Hasty Morey.
Mrs. Branson worked in security with Anheuser-Busch in Jacksonville, Florida, for many years. She also worked for the Internal Revenue Service as an account investigator.
She was a woman of many talents, known for her skill as a seamstress, her creativity in jewelry making, and her love of crafting. She generously volunteered her time and talents to help wounded veterans, a testament to her kindness and selfless spirit. She had a deep love for animals and found special joy in the companionship of her beloved fur baby, Prissy, who held a cherished place in her heart. She was an active member of the Moose Lodge, and she served as the ladies’ senior regent of the Moose Lodge in Jacksonville, Florida. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Morehead; siblings, Shelvia Casper, Faye Maier, and Sharon Hill.
Mrs. Branson is survived by her son, Thomas Hatcher of Arkansas; daughters, Belinda Hatcher of Norman Park, and Priscilla Strickland of Blackshear; grandchildren, William Padgett, Jacob Padgett, and Seth Hatcher; siblings, Thomas Morey and wife Diane, and Terrie Arnold and husband Frank; and several nieces and nephews.
