Sealy, and Christopher Smith will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Born on June 10, 1940, in Moultrie, Georgia, to the late Ollie Keith Barfield and Nettie Mixon Barfield. Laverne was a woman of unwavering strength and boundless compassion. Her diagnosis came swiftly, but even in that short time, a beautiful testament to her life unfolded. Family, friends, and loved ones from near and far gathered to say their goodbyes, drawn by the immeasurable impact she had made on their hearts. As always, she brought people together in love, her final days a reflection of a life lived in full and faithful service. She was more than a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, or friend; she was a beacon of light in her community. Loved by neighbors, respected by peers, and adored by all who crossed her path, her presence was a blessing! She was the heart of her family! She bonded generations with her quick wit, vibrant spirit and of course her signature red lipstick and red nails. Each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren were familiar with her red lipstick, either on their cheek or forehead. She could charm a room with her baby blues; just a single glance or smile and she would light it up with laughter. There was a sparkle in her spirit that never faded, a kindness and gentle mischief that made everyone feel loved. She was retired from B&S Concrete Services, Inc.
Quote from her father, Keith Barfield, “She was the one flower that stood out in the bouquet. She held the family together.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Edward “Bud” Sealy; brothers, Olin Barfield (Lanelle), Paul Barfield, Ronnie Barfield (Nancy), Riley Barfield (Shirley), Murray Barfield (Diane), and Rodney Barfield (Alice); and sister, Nan Briley (A.J.).
Mrs. Sealy is survived by her children, Charles Edward Sealy (Roberta) and Clarence Edwin Sealy (Sara) all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Charles E. “Blu” Sealy, Jr. (Lisa), Christopher E. “Kitt” Sealy (Joni), Sabrina S. Smith (Christopher), Jessica Sealy (Kevin), Kenneth M. Sealy, and Tristan C. Sealy (Brooke); great grandchildren, Chance Sealy, Blake Sealy, Madison Sealy, Taylor Sealy, Karley Sealy, Ty Giles, Jaden Sealy, Hollis Baxter, Vera Craighead, Garrett Smith, Ava Sealy, Caroline Sealy, Case Sealy, and Cecilia Sealy; and sisters, Phyllis Painter (Carson), Carol Jackson (Michael), and Melanie Dorsch.
