Larry Don Howard, 81, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 18, 2025, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Reverend Stephan Massey officiating. Interment will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service.
Born on May 27, 1944, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Walter Howard and Nettie Grier Howard. Mr. Howard dedicated many years of his life to serving and protecting others through his work as a firefighter. His bravery, commitment, and compassion left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
In retirement, Mr. Howard embraced his love for woodworking, spending countless hours crafting with care and skill. He also had a deep passion for motorcycles, especially his Harley-Davidson, which he rode with pride and joy. Whether on the road or in his workshop, Mr. Howard found happiness in doing what he loved. Mr. Howard served in the United States Marine Corps.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong spirit, and the loyalty he showed to his family, friends, and community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Howard, Ronnie Howard, Harrell Howard, Phillip Howard, and Jane Boyd, as well as his grandson-in-law, Jordan Laverty.
Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, Margie Ann Peacock Howard; son, Greg Howard and wife Traci of Moultrie; grandchildren, Brittney Laverty, Heather Graczyk and husband Danny, and Bailey Howard; and great-grandchildren, Emory Laverty, Harper Laverty, Ivey Laverty, Quinn Laverty, Zoey Graczyk, and Daniel Graczyk.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Colquitt Regional Hospice.
