Larry Joe Camp, 78, of Norman Park, died on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Reverend Andy Cashwell officiating. Interment will follow at the Lenox City Cemetery. Matthew Robinson, Ryan Rutland, Mark Camp, Justin Hale, Chris Hale, Stephen Godley and Ty Godley will all serve as active pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his friends from the trucking company.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born on August 31, 1946, in Tifton, Georgia, he was the son of the late John Morris Camp and Ellen Magdalene Clements Camp. Joe dedicated many years of his life as an over-the-road truck driver for ARC Transport, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment. He was also a master welder whose skilled hands could craft and repair with precision.
Outside of work, Joe cherished traveling with his family, creating memories on the open road. He had a passion for riding motorcycles and was an avid dirt track racing enthusiast, always finding excitement in the roar of engines and the thrill of the race.
Joe was also a dedicated member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where his faith was an important part of his life.
Above all, his greatest treasure was his family. He adored his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Carrol Camp.
Mr. Camp is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Sandra Maxwell Camp of Norman Park; daughters, Kim Rutland and husband Greg of Tifton and Dana Rogers and husband Frank of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Alex Rutland Robinson and husband Matthew of Belton, SC, Ross Rutland and special friend Olivia of Cumming, Kyle Rutland and wife Maria of Milledgeville, Ryan Rutland and wife Meredith of Tifton and Cole Rogers of Washington DC; great-grandchildren, Will Rutland, Wyatt Rutland, Rose Rutland, Bryce Rutland, Jack Rutland, Caroline Rutland, Harper Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Oaklan Robinson, and Rawlins Robinson; brother, Fred Camp and wife Cindy of Lenox; sisters, Lynn Camp Harrell of Lenox and Sandy Gonzales of Omega; and several nieces and nephews.
