Kathleen Marie Riley, “Kathy”, 69, recently of Moultrie, GA passed away at her residence on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021.
Born Kathleen Marie Copeland on November 18th, 1951 to Hubert S. Copeland, Jr. and Patricia Ann Copeland, Kathy led a busy and rewarding life. Her love of the law led her to a career as a paralegal. While she enjoyed that immensely, she would later transition to focusing on her two biggest loves, teaching and children. She successfully ran a small, intimate daycare specializing in children under the age of five. She taught them everything from the ABCs and reading, to potty training, to arts and crafts, to how to be a kind and considerate person.
She would later in life have the good fortune of helping to prepare her “special addition great grandson” and niece’s daughter in the same fashion. She lovingly prepared them for Pre-K in addition to how to stay strong and confident enough to deal with the trials and tribulations of growing up in the 21st century. It was caring for them where she found her true happiness.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Riley of Cocoa Beach, FL, her son John C. Riley, Jr. and daughter in law Jody Riley of Arcadia, FL, “special addition daughter” Lana Eierhart, grandchildren Brannon Riley, Piper Riley and “special addition granddaughter” Carlie Kording, “special addition great grandson” Brent Albury and two siblings.
A small gathering was held for immediate family.
