Karen Pittman Thompson, 70, of Moultrie, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 6, 2025, in the chapel at Baker Funeral Home with Reverend Julian Griner officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
Born August 25, 1954, in Pavo, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Lewis (Bud) Coleman Pittman and Jean Carolyn Fletcher Pittman. Karen was raised in Colquitt County and was a devoted member of Temple Baptist Church. A proud graduate of Moultrie High School, she went on to earn her degree from Moultrie Technical College. Karen built a successful career in sales and marketing, where she was known for her warmth, professionalism, and dedication. Most recently, she served as the Membership Sales Director at the Moultrie-Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce, a role she held with passion and pride.
Above all, Karen cherished her family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and her greatest joy. She will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering love, and the deep connections she built with everyone she met. Karen leaves behind a legacy of grace, strength, and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother Steve Pittman.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband, Steve Thompson of Moultrie; mother, Jean Carolyn Pittman of Moultrie; children, Jacob Thompson and wife Amy of St. Mary’s, Georgia, Abby Goodson and husband Josh of Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren, Carter Thompson, Claire Thompson, Emery Goodson, and Henry Goodson; brother, Stan Pittman and wife Betty of Moultrie; sister-in-law, Debbie Pittman of Moultrie.
