Born on August 4, 1984, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of LoriAnne Proctor Canfield and the late Thomas Ray Furney. Born with an adventurous spirit, Justin found his greatest joy in the woods—whether he was camping, exploring nature, or simply enjoying the quiet peace that only the outdoors could offer. The forest was his sanctuary, a place where he felt most alive and at home.

Justin was an outgoing and kind-hearted man whose life was defined by his willingness to give. He offered help freely, asked for nothing in return, and found purpose in serving others in any way he could. His acts of kindness were countless, but one of his most meaningful passions was cutting firewood. What began as a hobby became a mission of compassion, as he spent countless hours gathering and preparing wood so he could give it to families and neighbors in need. His generosity warmed not only their homes but also their hearts.

A talented and dedicated mechanic, Justin took great pride in his work. He had a natural ability to understand how things worked and how to fix them, and he used that gift to help others whenever he could.

Justin also shared a special bond with his brother, Jason. Their relationship was a true “ride or die” friendship—built on loyalty, laughter, and a deep connection that could only exist between brothers who were also best friends. Jason stood by Justin through every season of life, and their bond was one of Justin’s greatest treasures.

More than anything, Justin’s greatest source of pride was his three children. They were the center of his world, and he poured his love, time, and energy into being the best father he could be. His face lit up when he talked about them, and he cherished every moment spent making memories together. His children were not only his greatest joy but also his greatest legacy. He was of the Baptist faith. Justin received the joyful news that he was going to be a grandfather—news that filled him with excitement, pride, and pure happiness. He looked forward to this new chapter with all the love and enthusiasm that defined his life.

In addition to his mother, LoriAnne Canfield of Moultrie, he is survived by his children, Paxton Ray Furney and fiancée AnnaBeth Howard, Jaxon Ray Furney, and Macie Rae Furney, all of Moultrie; brother, Jason Vann Furney and wife Jennifer of Moultrie; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
