Judy Elizabeth Chambers Faison, 84, of Hartsfield, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Born March 7, 1941, in Moultrie, Georgia, to the late Joseph Paul Chambers and Janie Elizabeth Pittman Chambers. A longtime secretary for the Colquitt County Board of Education, Mrs. Faison dedicated many years to supporting local students and staff with grace, patience, and a smile. Her coworkers remember her as a dependable and kind presence, always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She adored her grandchildren and took great pride in every one of their accomplishments. Sewing was one of her favorite pastimes, and she lovingly crafted countless handmade items for friends and family over the years . You could almost always find Mrs. Faison with a Coca-Cola in hand, her signature drink, whether she was cheering on her favorite teams — the Colquitt County Packers, the Georgia Bulldogs, or the Atlanta Braves, or playing a lively game of bingo with friends, or a game of golf. Her warmth, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Floyd Faison.
Mrs. Faison is survived by her children, Sabrina Faison Odom and husband Wayne of Moultrie, and Joey Faison and wife Julie of Norman Park; and grandchildren, Ivy Odom Aponte and husband Luis of Birmingham, Alabama, Dayna Ferrell King and husband Jason of Priceville, Alabama, Bailey Faison Moss and husband Daniel of Butler, Georgia, and Eli Faison of Norman Park, Georgia.
