Joyce Saunders Evans

Joyce Saunders Evans, 81, of Scooterville, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Brother Brandon Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Paulk’s Chapel Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home.

Joyce was born on December 29, 1944, in Worth County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Hubert Saunders and Lena Mae Hancock Saunders. She was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Evans, and her brothers, Larry Saunders, Lynwood Saunders, and Wayne Saunders.

She is survived by her son, Ricky Dave Sikes and wife Lynn; daughters, Donna Sikes Conger and Tonya Rutherford Turner ( Allen Conger), all of Scooterville; grandchildren, Shane Conger, Scotty Conger and wife Summer, Hannah Poole and husband Jared, Michael Turner, Kayla Turner, Kristen Turner, Ethan Conger, Casey Sikes and wife Alannah, Austin Sikes(Julie Childers) and Brittany Sikes English and husband Caleb; sisters, Peggy Brooks and husband Tommy and Brenda Saunders; and numerous great-grandchildren.
