Jimmy “Greek” Georgiades, 78, of Omega, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Wilson Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Troy Dykes officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Church Cemetery. Randy Rathburn, Eric Huffman, Josh Lloyd, Devon Lloyd, Bryce Passmore, and Parker Huffman will serve as pallbearers.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am at Bethel Baptist Church.
Born June 8, 1948, to the late Harry Hercules Georgiades and Ethel Funderburke Georgiades. Mr. Georgiades proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. Following his military service, he worked for Kinnett Dairy for many years as a branch manager. He worked at Strategic Restaurant Supply and later worked at the Marine Base in Albany, where he was employed in the warehouse filling orders. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time at the beach, especially visiting Mexico Beach and Panama City, and he loved fishing. He also enjoyed playing golf and racquetball. Some of his fondest memories were made playing cards and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his hardworking spirit, and the many wonderful memories he created with those he loved. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and loved the Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry “Bunk” Georgiades and Kim “Tex” Georgiades.
Mr. Georgiades is survived by his wife, Bonnie Houston Georgiades of Omega; daughter, Nicole Georgiades Huffman and husband, Tim of Omega; grandchildren, Savannah Passmore and husband, Bryce of Tifton and Sarah Huffman of Tifton; great grandchild, Harper Passmore; brother, Fred “Roundhouse” Georgiades of Morgan, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
