Jimmy Oscar Sloan, 86, of Norman Park, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel and Rev. Rev. Jimmy Voyles and Ben Steffins officiating. Inturnent will follow at Funston City cemetery
Mr. Sloan was born on October 19, 1933 in Funston, Georgia. He was the son of the late Oscar Neubel Sloan and Margret Elizabeth Vann Sloan.
He was an electrician and retired from Miller Brewing Company, also a member of Crosland Baptist Church
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, a brother, Donald Sloan; and sisters, Maria Murphy, Louis Williams, and Faye Henning.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva Harrell Sloan of Norman Park; son, Brandon Dempsey of Norman Park; daughters, Julie Sloan Clark and husband Ponda of Moultrie, Nancy Sloan Singletary of Albany, and Jinny Sloan Waski and husband Ken of Jacksonville, FL; brother, John Sloan and wife Sandra of Plant City, FL,; grandchildren, Mitchell Fountain, Cory Clark, and Casey Clark, all of Moultrie, Zack Singletary of Atlanta, Luke Waski of Jacksonville, Lauren Anderson of Jacksonville, and Lindsey Hindrick of Jacksonville; and 6 great grandchildren.
