Born on April 3, 1942, in Hahira, Georgia, he was the son of the late Carey Estes Alderman and Mary Ann Sorrell Alderman Ingram. A master carpenter by trade, Chubby was the proud owner of A&A Custom Cabinets, where his exceptional skill and eye for detail made him well-respected in his field. He had a true passion for cabinet building, and his work was known for its quality, craftsmanship, and care. He also built many homes over the years, including the one he lived in and cherished most.

Chubby was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved “piddling” around the house, maintaining his yard, and riding his tractor. These quiet moments brought him peace and joy, and reflected the kind of man he was—diligent, thoughtful, and always working with his hands and heart.

He also loved watching Westerns and reading books about the Old West. A man of strong faith, he spent time in the Bible and devotionals, finding guidance and peace in God's word.

Chubby was also a gifted storyteller. He had a knack for sharing old stories—tales filled with humor, history, and heart—that captured the attention of anyone listening. His stories, like his craftsmanship, will long be remembered.

Above all, he loved his family. He adored his daughter and son, and nothing made him prouder than his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a steady presence, always offering support, wisdom, and love to those around him.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Renee Gay and husband Ben of Moultrie; his cherished son, David Alderman and wife Brenda of Berlin; grandchildren, Kayla Gay and Chris, Robin Monzon and Lazaro, Regan Young and Brian, Blake Byington and Natalie, Peyton Alderman, Zachary Tucker, and Brittany Casteloes and Keith; great-grandchildren JonDavid Gay, Kimber Gay, Lacey Byington, Lina Byington, Jade Casteloes, Brodi Casteloes, Luca Monzon and Israel Monzon; sister, Amy Alderman Martin of Hahira; niece, Resa Vinson of Hahira; and a host of extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice 415 Rowland Drive, Moultrie, Georgia 31768 in honor of the compassionate care he received.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home & Crematory.
