Jason Larry May, 48, of Moultrie, stepped into eternity and into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024, in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home, with Reverend Stephan Massey and Reverend Warren Gilpin officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Norman Park. David Griner, Tony Harper, Brian Brown, Dennis Conger, Danny Bolling, and Dusty Porter will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born on May 11, 1976, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of Larry Emory May and Linda Hamilton May. Jason served and was a proud Calvary Scout in the US Army. Jason found joy in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him in his daily actions and interactions. He spread love, hope, and compassion wherever he went, touching countless lives with his words and deeds. As a dedicated husband and loving father, Jason’s love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was a pillar of strength, a source of unending support, and a partner in all things. His commitment to his family was unparalleled. He took immense pride in his son and cherished every moment they spent together. Jason, being an avid outdoorsman, loved sitting by the firepit reminiscing funny stories. Throughout the years, he truly enjoyed riding dirt bikes and 4-wheelers with his son Jesse. In his professional life, he worked as a truck driver for over 25 years and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Norman Park.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, William Wesley and Ola Mae Hamilton and Emory and Mary Betty Tillman May; and cousin, Uriah May.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Hiers May of Norman Park; son, Jesse Michael May, also of Norman Park; mother and father, Linda Hamilton May and Larry Emory May; brother, Jamie Christopher May of Moultrie; aunt and uncle, Roger and Judy May; mother and father-in-law, Michael and Barbara Hiers of Moultrie; sister-in-law, Marlana and Scott Turner; nieces and nephews, Jameson, Chloe, and Nola Turner; and several cousins and extended family members.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
