James E. Scully

James Edward “Jimmy” Scully, 49, of Pavo, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 4, 2026, in the chapel at Baker Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Love officiating. Interment will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Pavo, Georgia. Christian Scully, Brady Scully, Daye Vansickle, Landon Hendley, Levi Hooks, and Charlie Carr will serve as pallbearers.

A visitation will be Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home.

Born on August 27, 1977, in Thomasville, Georgia to the late Edward Patrick Scully and Yvonne Cox Scully. He worked as a truck driver for Flowers Baking Company, a job he took great pride in throughout his career. In his free time, he enjoyed watching football and was a devoted Georgia Bulldog fan. He also loved NASCAR and especially enjoyed watching his favorite driver, Chase Elliot. Whether cheering on his favorite team or watching a race, he always enjoyed the excitement of the game and the time spent doing the things he loved.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by Patricia Barfield; father-in-law, Jimmy Gailey; grandparents, Ellen Cox Kelly, Etta V Scully  Clayton Wesley Cox, and William J. Scully.

Survivors include his wife, Amanda Gailey Scully of Pavo; sons, Christian Alexander Scully and Callie of Cairo, James Brady Scully and fiancé Haiden Pollock of Camilla; grandchildren, J. D. Jackson Scully and Jaxon Scully due January 2027; brother, Chad Scully and wife Sara of Metter, Georgia; sisters, Melanie Cromartie and husband, Tom of Thomasville, April New and Tim of Monticello, Georgia, Amber and Brandon Stewart of Eatonton, Georgia, and Denise and Jason Newton of Sylvester, Georgia; grandpa, Robert Kelly; mother-in-law, Amaryllis Gailey; sister-in-law, Jennifer Gailey of Pavo; brother-in-law, Jason Gailey and Danielle of Doerun; special aunts, Esther Finch and husband, Herschel, and Pat Carr and husband, Charlie; aunts, Lilly Mae Yearwood, Elizabeth Radney, Jeanne Boatwright, Orrie Worn, and Vivian Scully; uncle, Ricky Cox, Don Cox, Charles Scully, Buddy Scully, Gene Radney; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special pet, Humphrey.
