James Hunnicutt

James Eldridge Hunnicutt, 80, of Norman Park, passed away Friday, June 27, 2025, at his residence surrounded by family.

No formal services will be held.

He was born in Norman Park, Georgia, on May 22, 1945, to the late O.S. Hunnicutt and Parra Lee Cox Hunnicutt. He served in the United States Army, worked as a farmer his entire life, and was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, John Herbert Hunnicutt and Earnest Hunnicutt; sister and brother-in-law, Lillian Hunnicutt Ricks and Glenn; and nephews, Greg Ricks and Tim Ricks.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley Deloris Weeks Hunnicutt of Norman Park; son, Chris Hunnicutt and wife Ginger of Norman Park; daughters, Tisha Hunnicutt of Charleston, South Carolina, Candace Hunnicutt and wife Rebecca of Cochran, Georgia; grandchildren, Austin Hunnicutt and Fiancée Vanesa Morales of Atlanta, Georgia, Christin Hunnicutt and significant other Ava White of Melbourne, Australia, Noah Totty and Scout Totty both of Cochran, Georgia; sister in law, Berenda Hunnicutt of Norman Park; nieces, Denise Lindsey and husband Andy, Sonya Barfield and husband Kevin, and Melissa Johnson, husband Kyle; nephew, Anthony Hunnicutt; and many cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
