Hilsman Sumner

Hilsman Tift Sumner, 84, of Ellenton, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
No formal services will be held at this time.
Born on January 4, 1936, in Ellenton, Georgia, he was the son of the late Joe Brown Sumner and Lucy Estelle Weeks Sumner. He worked in civil services at Albany Marine Corp Logistics Base, a veteran of the United States Air Force, and was of the Christian faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Joe G. Sumner and Stephen McClendon; brother, Elton Sumner; and sister, Annell Beck.
Mr. Sumner is survived by his daughters, Lucinda R. Carter and husband Ron of Chapin, SC and Sabrina S. Shiver and husband Steve of St. Simon Island, GA; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Kevin Sumner of Moultrie; and sister, Jarell Baker and husband Ronald of Ellenton; former wife, Shirley Miller Sumner of Douglas, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
