Herbert Connell

W. Herbert Connell, 82, of Moultrie, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:00 am at Hopewell Church Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Josh Purvis officiating.

Born October 31, 1942, in Moultrie, GA, he was the son of the late Wade Spartman Connell and Thelma Davis Connell. Mr. Connell was a machinist who worked making tools and dye with Bridgeport Bros for 31 years and Hubble Dye Cast for 12 years. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Connell was a faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Herbert “Herbie” Wade Connell; brothers, Paul Wade Connell, Reopard “Red” Connell, James Alton “Coon” Connell, and Cecil Connell; sister Catherine Connell Jones.

Mr. Connell is survived by his wife, Edna Louise Childers Connell; son, Edgar Wyman Connell; grandchildren, Kadee Dawn Connell and Kacee Brooke Connell all of Moultrie, GA.

The family will gather after the service at the home of Elaine Hemingway.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Hopewell Cemetery Fund.
