Gwen Tucker Turner, 83, of Moultrie, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the Golden Apple in Moultrie, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church in Moultrie with Brother Charlie Tucker officiating.

Born on September 18, 1942, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of Geo Dewey McGuire and Gladys C. Bishop McGuire. Mrs. Turner proudly served in the United States Air Force before dedicating herself to raising her family. She was a graduate of Moultrie Beauty School. Throughout her life, she worked in a variety of occupations, embracing each role with determination and a strong work ethic. However, her greatest joy and most treasured role was that of a mother and homemaker. She devoted herself to caring for her family, creating a loving home, and making countless memories with those she loved most.

In her free time, she enjoyed the simple things in life, especially spending time with her beloved cat and dogs. They brought her great comfort and companionship, and she always had a soft spot for animals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Timothy Turner; sisters, Clotel Hatcher and husband Lamar, Loette McGuire and husband Garald, and Ruth Lastinger and husband Andrew; nephews, Kenneth Hatcher and David McGuire.

Mrs. Turner is survived by her son, Jerry Moore of Sweetwater, Tennessee; stepsons, Tim Turner and wife Teresa of Moultrie, and Kim Turner and wife Debbie of Omega; step-grandchildren, Keri Hardin and and husband Timothy, Karli Dunn and husband Griffin, Justin Turner and wife Jenna, Matthew Turner and wife Alli, Mark Turner and wife Erin, and Johnathan Turner and wife Olivia; nephews, James McGuire of Duluth, Archie Hatcher of Thomasville, Eugene Lastinger of Moultrie. Leslie Lastinger of League City, Texas, and Anthony Lastinger of Colbert, Georgia, have twelve great-grandchildren and several great nieces and nephews.

Arrangements entrusted to Baker Funeral Home and Crematory.
