Guy Hart

Guy Walter Hart, 95, of Moultrie, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at his residence.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Andy Croft officiating.

Mr. Hart was a lifelong farmer whose dedication to the land reflected his strong work ethic and deep roots in the community. For 33 years, he faithfully served as a school bus driver, safely transporting and caring for generations of local children. In addition to his years on the farm and behind the wheel, he worked with Farm Bureau for 18 years, offering guidance and support to fellow farmers and families throughout the area.

A committed public servant, Mr. Hart proudly served as a Colquitt County Commissioner for eight years, where he worked diligently to support the growth and well-being of his community. His leadership was marked by integrity, fairness, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Above all, Mr. Hart was a man of strong faith. He served as a devoted deacon of Reedy Creek Baptist Church, where he was an active and faithful member. His life was a testament to hard work, service, and steadfast commitment to his family, church, and community.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jeff Hart; sisters, Dorothy Spruill and Regina Pilkinton.

Mr. Hart is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” Simmons Hart; son, Greg Hart; grandchildren, Josh Hart and wife Luciana, Kimberly Hart and fiancé, Ronnie Davis, Rena Hart, Dustin Hart, Sarah Hart, Layla Hart, Jase Hart and Kamryn Hart; great-grandchildren, Zy’Marea, Jr., Hunter, Colvi, Ky, Draven, Ava, MiAmi, Jazlyn, and Rudy; great-great-grandchild, Zy’Ier; brothers, Donald Hart and wife Elmyra, Wandell E. Har and wife Gladys; sisters, Shirely Blanton, and Carol Herring and husband Jerry.
